AMD Phenom II X6 – 6 Core Processors

AMD Phenom II X6 – 6 Core Processors

AMD has launched its new 6 core phenom processors (codenamed “Thuban”). AMD has implement a new techonolgy called Turbo Core in new Phenoms. The idea behind Turbo Core is that not every application/program uses every core available to them, and there is a lot of wastage when the cores are idle, when the three or more more cores aren’t being used, it will boost the speed of the remaining active cores by upto 400-500 MHz.
Turbo core will work on AMD Phenom II X6 processors and forthcoming Quad Core processors based on Thuban architecture. These new processors won’t require new motherboards, current AM2+ & AM3 socket motherboard will support these just by upgrading the BIOS.
The price of Phenom II X6 1090T* is Rs.16,000/- and Phenom II X6 1055 is Rs.10,000/- in Nehru Place.
Motherboard with the new AMD 890 series chipsets are also available.
